Jan 18, 2019 -  Bob Victor, author of the Abrams Planetarium  "SKY CALENDAR,"  will be speaking on  "What's Up for 2019?"  This will be held at the Portola Community Center, 45-480 Portola Ave., Palm Desert, 92260.  Doors open at 6:30 pm for refreshments and the talk begins at 7:00 pm.

 

February 15, 2019 - Dennis Mammana is author of six books on astronomy and the “Stargazer” nationally syndicated newspaper column. He has held planetarium positions at the Smithsonian Institute and San Diego’s Reuben H. Fleet Science Center. He will be speaking on the "Flying Blue Marble."  As static as our world often appears, each of us is whipping through space in a half-dozen directions at more than a million miles per hour.  Here's a program that will truly leave your head spinning.  This will be held at the Portola Community Center, 45-480 Portola Ave., Palm Desert, 92260.  Doors open at 6:30 pm for refreshments  and the talk begins at 7:00 pm.

 

March 15, 2019  - Dr. Bruce Strathdee, Board member of the Astronomical Society of the Desert will be speaking on "What and Why are White Dwarfs." This will be held at the Portola Community Center, 45-480 Portola Ave., Palm Desert, 92260.  Doors open at 6:30 pm for refreshments and the talk begins at 7:00 pm.
